Description
A vintage American Flyer S-gauge model train set, identified as Set No. 5650TBW, manufactured by The A. C. Gilbert Company. This 3/16 inch scale collection features a 4-6-2 Pacific-style steam locomotive in black die-cast metal marked with the number 313 and a matching black coal tender with American Flyer Lines text and the Pennsylvania Railroad keystone logo. The assortment of rolling stock consists of plastic bodies with metal chassis and includes a blue and yellow Baltimore and Ohio boxcar (model 980) with Time-Saver Service markings, a white operating milk car (model 973) with a Gilberts Grade A Milk logo, a red Delaware and Hudson container gondola (model 916) with five silver-tone canisters, a black New Haven flatcar (model 928) carrying a load of five wooden planks, and a red American Flyer Lines caboose (model 930). The operating milk car includes a white metal platform, a black control box with a red button, and a small bag containing silver-tone milk cans. An additional accessory is the No. 568 Whistling Billboard with a green plastic base and lithographed graphic. The set is accompanied by its original corrugated shipping box, as well as individual yellow, blue, and red component boxes for the billboard and most freight cars. All boxes are worn.
