Description
This collection from The Lionel Corporation includes six vintage O-gauge model train accessories and rolling stock from the Space and Military series of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Included in the set are a No. 6470 Explosives Boxcar, a No. 462 Derrick Platform Set, a No. 470 Missile Launching Platform, a No. 443 Missile Launching Platform with Exploding Ammunition Dump, and a No. 943 Exploding Bunker. The No. 6470 Explosives Boxcar is constructed of red plastic with white lettering and features metal trucks. The No. 462 Derrick Platform Set consists of a gray plastic platform with a yellow manual crane and two gray Radioactive Waste canisters with radiation symbols. Both missile launching platforms (No. 470 and No. 443) feature tan plastic bases, blue swiveling launchers, red and white missiles, and yellow radar dishes. The No. 943 Exploding Bunker is shown disassembled, featuring a metal base with a spring-loaded trigger mechanism and green plastic roof and side panels. All items are accompanied by their original printed cardboard boxes, and the set includes instruction sheets for the No. 470 platform and the No. 943 bunker.
