Description
A Lionel Postwar O gauge freight train set, identified as set number 9657, manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. This uncatalogued set includes a No. 2037 2-6-4 steam locomotive with a die-cast metal body and white-stamped numerals on the cab. The set features a No. 6026W whistling tender constructed of plastic with Lionel Lines lettering. The rolling stock consists of an assortment of freight cars including a No. 6014 Pennsylvania Railroad Bosco box car in red plastic, a No. 6112-135 black plastic canister car with four white removable canisters, and a No. 6476-85 black plastic Lehigh Valley hopper car. Additional cars include a No. 6800 red plastic flat car carrying a black and yellow plastic airplane accessory, a No. 6818 red plastic flat car carrying a black plastic transformer accessory, and a No. 6017 brown plastic square-window caboose. All pieces of rolling stock and the locomotive include their original individual orange and blue or plain cardboard boxes. The collection is housed within the original corrugated cardboard set shipping carton, which bears the Lionel Trains logo and set number 9657.
