Description
This set is a vintage O-Gauge military freight train produced by Louis Marx & Co. as part of the Mobile Military series. The set features molded plastic bodies in an olive drab color with white and black printed graphics. The collection consists of an 0-4-0 steam locomotive with a metal chassis and side rods, followed by a matching tender. The freight consist includes a USMC boxcar, a tank car, and a caboose designated as a Radio Car. Each piece is marked with the circular Marx logo featuring an X-shape with the letters MAR in the top segment and the numbers 90 in the bottom segment, surrounded by the words Mobile Military. Specific markings include US 1951 MA on the tender, USMC 0000 on the boxcar, US 9553 MS on the tank car, and US 9234 MS on the caboose. The locomotive is equipped with an electric motor and a forward-facing headlight bulb.
