Description
A collection of Trix Express HO scale model trains and related ephemera manufactured in Germany. The set is constructed primarily from die-cast metal and plastic components. The collection features two locomotives: a Class 80 black steam tank locomotive with a red chassis, marked with the number 80 020, and a Class 42 black steam locomotive with a separate tender and multi-axle configuration, marked with the number 42 555. The rolling stock includes an assortment of tank cars featuring liveries for Shell, Esso, Aral, and BP. Passenger and sleeper service is represented by several coaches, including three blue Touropa cars, one teal Touropa car, a green Scharnow-Reisen coach, and a maroon DSG (Deutsche Schlafwagen- und Speisewagengesellschaft) dining or sleeper car. The lot is accompanied by three original Trix Express paper catalogs dated 1953, 1958, and 1962. The 1953 catalog features a distributor stamp for W. Kurt Heiber on the cover.
