Description

This collection consists of HO scale model railroad structures and associated promotional literature manufactured by Gebr. Faller of Gütenbach, West Germany, dating to the early 1950s. The assortment features six individual structures: a #124 signal box control tower with a grey stucco-textured exterior and flat red overhanging roof; a #233 windmill missing the vanes with a brown-to-grey gradient finish and a stone-textured base; three #283,286,208 distinct Alpine-style chalets or cottages with gabled roofs in red, brown, and grey featuring shutters and flower boxes; and a #140 small woodpile shed accessory. The buildings are constructed from a combination of plastic, wood, and composite materials, detailed with naturalistic moss and flocking accents.

The lot includes three original paper items: a tri-fold brochure titled The FALLER Line 1953, which identifies Charles C. Merzbach Co. of New York as the U.S. agent; an instructional brochure titled FALLER Viaduct and Tunnel Construction in HO (No. 845); and a Faller-Automatic leaflet. The literature bears the Faller name and logo, and Gebr. Faller Gütenbach/Schwarzw. is printed on the 1953 brochure. One leaflet is stamped Germany on the reverse.
