Description
This is a vintage Marklin model train transformer, model number 13470 C, manufactured in Germany. The unit is housed in a black enameled metal wedge-shaped case. The front control panel features a central analog voltmeter with a scale from 0 to 30 volts, flanked by green and red jewel-style indicator lights. Control components consist of a large central speed and voltage knob with a directional arrow and two smaller adjustment knobs labeled O L and B 00. A metal specification plate is mounted on the front face. The rear of the unit includes a ventilation grille, a grounding terminal labeled E, and a bakelite output panel with eight plug-in sockets labeled for various connections including oo, B, L, and W. The transformer includes an attached brown cloth-covered power cord with a vintage two-prong plug. The item is accompanied by its damaged original unfinished wooden shipping box, which retains a two-part paper label identifying the unit as model 13470 CG. One side of the box contains handwritten vintage shipping information to Sacramento, California. A small brown paper packet is also present.
