Description
A Märklin O-gauge model 19430 Mitropa sleeping car (Schlafwagen), constructed from lithographed and painted tinplate. The car features a maroon body with gold-tone Mitropa and Schlafwagen lettering and decorative pinstriping. It is equipped with multi-axle bogies and vintage-style couplings. The removable roof reveals a partitioned interior containing stamped metal sleeping berths and a central metal strip designed for internal lighting. Included with the car is an assortment of four small composite figures wrapped in burlap cloth. The car features removable destination placards reading Stuttgart-Muenchen and Dresden-Wien. Visible markings include MARKLIN, 19430, Germany, and technical weight and length specifications on the chassis, with MARKLIN and Germany also appearing on the end panels. The item is accompanied by a plain tan cardboard box with a manufacturer label and handwritten Rot-Schlaf notation. Car is 40 cm long.
