Description
A vintage Märklin O gauge (Spur 0) postal carriage, model number 19450. The piece is constructed from painted and lithographed tinplate. The body is finished in dark green with a lighter olive-green roof. The roof features ten raised ventilation cowls and multiple skylight windows. The sides of the carriage include two pairs of sliding doors and windows with frosted inserts. Both ends of the car feature embossed detail, including a door, a ladder, and the manufacturer name. The four-axle bogies and functioning couplers are mounted to a black chassis. The side of the carriage displays yellow lithographed markings including Post 4ü, KKsbr, and 400t on the upper left. Centrally, the model number 19450 appears above POST, located over a circular eagle emblem. Detailed technical specifications printed on the black chassis sill include RIC, Gew.d.W. 47800kg., Länge ü. P. 21,72m, Achsst. ges. 18.00m, Einh. Dyn. Bel., MÄRKLIN, and Unt. 18.2.49. The word MÄRKLIN is embossed in the metal above the end doors. The item is accompanied by its original plain brown cardboard box, which features a white paper label with the Märklin bicycle-style logo, the handwritten word Poste, and the printed text Made in Germany.
