Description
This collection of Lionel postwar O-gauge model trains includes one diesel switcher locomotive and five pieces of rolling stock. The locomotive is a Seaboard Railroad NW2 diesel switcher, numbered 601, featuring a black and red livery. The rolling stock consists of three 6464 series boxcars: a blue and orange Baltimore & Ohio car (6464-400), a red, white, and blue State of Maine car (6464-275), and a black Southern Pacific “Overnight” car (6464-225). Utility cars in the group include a 6520 searchlight car and a 6420 D.L. & W. work caboose. Each piece is constructed with a molded plastic body, a die-cast metal frame, and die-cast metal trucks with knuckle couplers. Visible markings include SEABOARD 601 and the railroad heart logo on the locomotive; BALTIMORE & OHIO, 6464400, and TIME-SAVER SERVICE on the B&O boxcar; STATE OF MAINE, 6464275, and BANGOR AROOSTOOK on the tricolor boxcar; S. P. 6464225 and the winged OVERNIGHT logo on the black boxcar; 6520 LIONEL LINES on the searchlight car frame; and D. L. & W. 6420 on the gray work caboose cabin. The searchlight car carries a green generator unit and an adjustable silver-toned searchlight housing.
