Description
This lot comprises an extensive collection of approximately 27 vintage model train catalogs and related hobbyist printed materials, primarily published by The Lionel Corporation. The collection spans over three decades, featuring items dated from 1942 through 1974. Included are various Lionel consumer catalogs for O, 027, Super O, and HO gauges, notably the 1950 Golden Anniversary edition, the 1957 catalog, and later issues from 1962, 1971, 1972, and 1974. The group also features a 1942 Firestone Home and Auto Supply Stores catalog showcasing Lionel products and a sample copy of The Model Engineer magazine. The items display a range of mid-century graphic design styles, from industrial illustrations to family-oriented scenes and space exploration themes. Several catalogs bear original retail dealer stamps, including Firestone in Hempstead, New York; G and B Supply in Providence, Rhode Island; and Starretts, Inc. in Portland, Maine. Additional ephemera include a Lionel Trackside Accessory sheet and a Wonder Book of Railroading promotional poster. All items are softbound, staple-bound paper booklets.
