Description
A collection of seven vintage O-gauge model train station platforms and five original boxes manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. These No. 157 Illuminated Station Platforms feature molded plastic roofs in green and bases in two distinct color variations: four in bright red and three in a deep maroon. The support pillars and fencing are constructed of metal. Six of the platforms are equipped with lithographed metal advertising signs mounted to the fences, featuring brands including Rival Dog Food, Gulf Gasoline, Airex Spinning Reels, Baby Ruth, and Sunoco Motor Oil. The fencing is finished in either black or silver tones. These accessories are designed for illumination, with light sockets and wiring located beneath the roof canopies.
The five original cardboard boxes included in the lot are printed with the following text: No. 157 / ILLUMINATED / STATION PLATFORM / LIONEL TRAINS / THE LIONEL CORPORATION / NEW YORK Made in U.S. of America CHICAGO. One box features a vintage price marking of $3.75.
