Description
This collection features vintage model train smoke accessories produced by The Lionel Corporation, intended for use with postwar O-gauge locomotives. The assortment includes a cardboard display box containing twelve glass bottles of No. SP Smoke Pellets. Each bottle is fitted with a black plastic screw-on cap and retains its original orange, blue, and white paper label reading LIONEL SMOKE PELLETS and THE LIONEL CORPORATION NEW YORK CHICAGO. Also present are three No. 671-75 Smoke Lamps, each accompanied by its original individual cardboard box. These lamps are specialized bulbs used to heat and vaporize the smoke pellets. The metal lamp bases feature incised markings including 18V 799 and 12V 797. The lamp boxes are printed with Tested No. 671-75 SMOKE LAMP 12 VOLTS LIONEL. One lamp box shows a period modification where the original 18 Volts printing was obscured to indicate 12 Volts. The large display box is printed with LIONEL TRAINS SMOKE PELLETS and LIONEL (SP) and features an illustration of a steam engine with a smoke plume.
