Description
This lot consists of a Lionel O-gauge diesel locomotive set and a collection of K-Line Electric Trains passenger cars. The locomotive set is a three-unit Alco A-B-A configuration in the Rock Island (Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad) black and red livery. The lead and trailing A-units feature the Rock Island shield logo and "ROCK ISLAND" lettering, with the text BUILT BY LIONEL visible on the cab units. The center B-unit is a custom numbered 2031. The locomotives feature plastic shells mounted on die-cast metal chassis.
The passenger car collection includes eight cars from the K-Line The Streamliners series, all finished in the red and silver Golden State livery. These cars feature molded or extruded bodies with die-cast metal four-wheel trucks and operating die-cast couplers. The set includes the following specific units: Imperial Terrace observation car, Golden Moon sleeper (number 214), United States Mail Railway Post Office (number 4301), Golden Harvest (number 427), Baggage (number 5065), Golden Divan, Golden State coach (number 6015), and Imperial Range sleeper. Each passenger car is accompanied by its original manufacturer’s box.
