Description
This is a prewar Lionel No. 136 passenger station manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. The structure is constructed from painted and lithographed tinplate. The color scheme consists of a yellow body with red doors, a red hipped roof featuring a central dormer, and two yellow chimneys, all mounted on a green rectangular base. The station is equipped with an Automatic Train Control feature, as indicated on the packaging, with three knurled screw terminals located on the base for track integration. Visible markings include a silver-tone nameplate on the front reading LIONELVILLE and small signs above the doors reading EXPRESS and BAGGAGE. The original corrugated cardboard box is present and retains its large orange and blue label with the text: No. 136 STATION WITH AUTOMATIC TRAIN CONTROL, LIONEL Electric TRAINS, and The Lionel Corporation manufacturer information. The side of the box features a National Container Corp. stamp dated 3-20-39 and the word STATION handwritten in black ink.
