Description

A Lionel Corporation electric toy cookstove, identified as Model 155, produced circa the late 1920s to early 1930s. The structure is made of sheet steel with a two-tone pale green and cream porcelain enamel finish. The right side features a nickel-plated cooktop with two heating elements utilizing ceramic insulators and coiled wire filaments. To the left is an oven featuring a drop-down door and a circular thermometer dial marked with the Lionel name. The oven interior is lined with blue and white mottled enamel and includes a wire rack and a perforated metal pan. The control panel contains four white rotary knobs and a central toggle switch for managing the oven and hot plates.  Latch on the oven is missing. The backsplash includes an original graphic of a chef holding a platter above the Lionel logo. The unit rests on four cabriole-style metal legs finished in green paint. A small brass identification plate is located on the lower front of the oven section. A cloth-covered power cord has cut end.  Cannot be plugged in,    Wear and rust consistant with age of the item.
