Lot 332:
Description
Static display scale model of the German Kriegsmarine Type VIIB submarine U-47. The model is professionally built and finished, featuring a weathered two-tone hull with a red lower section and gray upper section. Construction appears to be of plastic or resin with integrated metal detailing including photo-etched railings, deck gratings, and brass propellers. The conning tower is decorated with a white snorting bull emblem, representing the personal insignia of commander Gunther Prien, and features a miniature German naval ensign on a staff at the rear. Armament includes a deck-mounted 8.8 cm gun and secondary anti-aircraft guns. The hull displays realistic weathering effects including rust streaks and salt spray deposits. The model is mounted on two brass pedestals fixed to a tiered, rectangular wooden display base. A brass-colored plaque on the base is inscribed U.47 U-Boot 1939. Wires are very fragile.
