Description
This vintage clockwork speedboat is a Racer II model manufactured by Meccano Ltd. in Liverpool, England, under the Hornby brand. The toy is constructed from painted tinplate, featuring a cream-colored hull with a green-painted deck, hatch, and trim. A lithographed transfer label is located on the stern deck, featuring a red scroll with the text Hornby Speedboat Product of Meccano Ltd Liverpool. The bow displays lithographed text, with the port side clearly marked Racer II and the starboard side marked Racer I. The vessel is equipped with a top-mounted winding mechanism, a separate blue-painted metal winding key, a three-blade propeller, and an adjustable green-painted metal rudder.
