Lot 212:
Description
Attributed to Marklin, this pair of 1 gauge (Spur 1) railway wagons is constructed from painted tinplate. The first wagon is a 1952/1 stake car featuring a dark green exterior with horizontal ribbing, a cream-colored interior, and eight black stakes. It is mounted on two four-wheel bogies with standard hook-and-loop couplings. The second wagon is a 1881/1 a flatbed design with a brown finish and black undercarriage, carrying a reproduction specialized propeller-driven aero-sled vehicle. The vehicle is finished in a bright pea green and features a white two-blade propeller, a cockpit with a small seated driver figure in a brown uniform, and small cream-colored wheels. Both wagons exhibit the construction style associated with early 20th-century German toy manufacture.
