Description
This Märklin model number 19420 is a Mitropa Speisewagen or dining car produced in Germany. The rolling stock is constructed of lithographed tinplate and die-cast components. The body is finished in a deep maroon color with gold-tone pinstriping and lettering. Centered on the side is the Mitropa brand name beneath a circular logo featuring an eagle design. A small yellow printed rectangle identifies the route as Stuttgart-München. The word Speisewagen appears at both ends of the side panels, and the model number 19420 is printed near the lower corners. One end panel is marked with the manufacturer name Märklin and Germany. The olive-green roof is detailed with twenty paired circular vents and two clerestory-style vents at either end. One side of the car features three windows with yellow-tinted inserts. The chassis is equipped with two four-wheel bogies and metal wheels, including four metal buffers and two couplers. Car is 40 cm long.
