This is a Märklin O Gauge model railroad dining car, model number 1942, representing the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (CIWL). The car is constructed of lithographed and painted tinplate and finished in the characteristic dark blue livery with gold lining. The upper sides are printed with the text Compagnie Internationale des Wagons Lits et des Grands Express Européens. The lower sides feature the markings Voiture-Restaurant and Dining Car. A removable destination placard on the side reads Amsterdam-Basel. The car ends are marked Marklin and Germany. The underframe is detailed with printed technical specifications including RIC, d.W. 47800 kg, ü.P. 21,72 m, 16,00 m, Einh. Dyn. Bel., Märklin, and a service date of Unt. 18.9.43. The car features a removable light gray roof that reveals a fully furnished interior. The interior layout includes a kitchen compartment with a simulated stove and counter at one end, and a dining section with brown benches and white-topped tables.
