Description
This collection of HO scale model railway freight cars is manufactured by V.B. (Vollon & Brun) in France. The cars are constructed from die-cast metal (Zamac) and feature prototypical markings for French railway systems including the SNCF and PLM. The assortment includes a wine wagon #43 (foudre) featuring a textured dark barrel with a yellow label transcribed VINS G R A P Paris and a frame marked FRANCE SNCF; a red tank wagon #62 with a label for STE DES VINS DE FRANCE, a brakeman’s platform, and a ladder; a black lattice open wagon (#44) with frame markings including FRANCE – SNCF and TRANSPORT DE COKES; and a brown boxcar (#51) with sliding door details marked FRANCE PLM and capacity notations of HOMMES 40 CHEVAUX 8. All models are equipped with original metal wheels and European hook-and-loop style couplers. Three original cream-colored cardboard boxes with red-trimmed lids are included, bearing the red square V.B. logo and Made in France text. One box features a handwritten date notation of 5 FEB 58.
