Description
A Lionel Postwar ‘The Texas Special’ O27 Passenger Train Set, No. 1520W, Circa 1954. The set features a two-unit red ‘The Texas Special’ diesel locomotive, model 2245P M-K-T, equipped with Magne-Traction® and horn. Accompanying the locomotive are four silver “LIONEL LINES” passenger cars, also metal and plastic, comprising two “2432 CLIFTON” cars (identified by their original individual cardboard boxes as illuminated Vista-Dome and Astra-Dome types), one “2435 ELIZABETH” Pullman car, and one “2436 SUMMIT” Observation car. The set includes its original large cardboard outfit box, “LIONEL TRAINS OUTFIT No. 1520W M-K-T DIESEL “027” PASSENGER TRAIN WITH HORN WITH MAGNE-TRACTION®”, displaying an original price of “$69.50”. Various paper documents are also present, including “Instructions for Operating LIONEL No. 2245 DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE” and a “Lionel Service Policy” dated “1954-1955”. C8-9.
