Description
A pair of vintage postwar O-gauge model train accessories manufactured by The Lionel Corporation. This set consists of a No. 342 Operating Culvert Loader and a No. 345 Operating Culvert Unloader. Both accessories feature tan plastic bases and structures with red plastic cabins bearing the gold-tone text Lionelville Culvert Pipe Co. The No. 342 loader includes an orange and black metal crane assembly, while the No. 345 unloader features a taller structure with a raised cabin, ladders, and an integrated conveyor system. Accompanying the accessories are two red New York Central gondola cars marked NYC 6342, with New York Central System logos and Built by Lionel text. The set includes two black plastic No. 90 control units with red buttons, a section of gray plastic track, a group of silver-toned metal culvert pipes, and original paper instruction sheets. One original brown paper envelope marked for the No. 342 Culvert Loader is included. These motorized accessories are designed to automate the loading and unloading of metal culverts using electromagnetic cranes. The lot includes two original corrugated cardboard boxes with printed model numbers and the Lionel Trains logo.
