Description

This collection of nine vintage model railway catalogs and trade booklets primarily dates from the early 1950s and includes publications from various European and American manufacturers and retailers. The assortment features a BUCO 1950 catalog with a monochrome illustration of an electric locomotive (number 11852 II) on the cover; a July 1951 Edward Exley (Sales) Co. booklet titled Artists in Modelcraft; and a March 6, 1954, PECO Quality Products Catalogue Guide for small scale railway models. A French railway publication is included, bearing logos for VA Vuillaume-Antal, BV Brevete S.G.D.G. Marque Deposee, and SM, depicting an aerial view of a rail yard. The lot also contains a Polk’s Model Craft Hobbies catalog from circa 1950 featuring a red and black illustration of a steam locomotive and an orange price sticker. There are five Fleischmann publications: two duplicate copies of an HO scale catalog with a black cover and factory scene illustration, one catalog depicting a steam locomotive with a red-and-tan passenger railcar, and one catalog showing a steam train crossing a stone viaduct. These items are original staple-bound paper booklets featuring a mix of color and monochrome cover illustrations and interior printing.
