Description
A Lionel Electric Trains model number 6-8606 Hudson-type steam locomotive and tender set featuring Boston and Albany railroad livery. The locomotive is a 4-6-4 Hudson configuration with the cab number 784 and a silver-tone smokebox front. Both the locomotive and the tender are constructed with die-cast metal bodies. The locomotive is equipped with Magne-Traction, a smoke-emitting stack and steam chests, an operating headlight, and transformer-controlled forward-neutral-reverse operation. The tender features die-cast 6-wheel trucks, operating knuckle couplers, an electronic Sound of Steam system, and a realistic steam whistle. The set is accompanied by its original blue, white, and orange retail display box which lists the specific engine and tender features. Also included is the original brown corrugated cardboard shipping carton bearing the catalog number 9-8606 and the manufacturer’s Mt. Clemens, Michigan address.
