Description
This collection from The Lionel Corporation includes several postwar model train accessories and a telegraph key. The group features multiple model No. 199 Microwave Relay Tower, primarily finished in a tan/beige color with one example in dark grey. These towers are constructed with plastic lattice structures atop black rectangular bases and are topped with rotating radar dish assemblies. Also included is a model No. 299 Code transmitter Set, featuring a tan lattice structure and a grey lamp housing. Each tower displays a small red rectangular label with white LIONEL lettering.
Accompanying the towers is a black J-38 style Morse code telegraph key mounted on a black base, along with a small brown paper envelope labeled Spare Parts for J-38 Key. The set includes an original red and white Lionel Corporation cardboard box featuring printed text for The Lionel Corporation, New York and Chicago. The towers and bases are primarily plastic with internal metal components for the rotating mechanisms, while the telegraph key is constructed of metal and plastic.
