Description
A Lionel postwar O gauge freight set, catalog number 1545. The group includes a black diesel switcher locomotive marked 628 in Northern Pacific livery, featuring a die-cast metal chassis and body with a yellow stripe along the base. The accompanying rolling stock consists of a red X6014 Curtiss Baby Ruth candy boxcar, a black 6424 flatcar carrying molded plastic sedans in white and yellow, and a red 6257 caboose. These pieces are constructed with molded plastic bodies mounted on metal wheel trucks. Also included is an assortment of O gauge tubular steel track sections on metal ties. The items are accompanied by the worn original manufacturer’s cardboard box, which is printed with the Lionel Trains logo, set number 1545, and manufacturing details for the Lionel Corporation of New York.
