Description
This collection features several vintage Lionel motorized rail units and associated accessories dating from the postwar era, designed for O and O27 gauge track. The group includes a No. 51 Navy Yard Switcher locomotive finished in blue with silver-tone handrails and marked Navy Yard New York 51 on the cab with one broken window strut. Also included is a No. 50 Gang Car with an orange and black plastic body on a metal frame, featuring three seated crew figures and its original orange and blue illustrated box. A No. 52 Fire Fighting Car is present, featuring a red plastic body, a fireman figure at the nozzle, a hose reel, a ladder, and its original brown cardboard box. Completing the motorized units is a No. 65 Handcar Car in yellow with two crew figures operating the pump handle, accompanied by two black track-tripping accessories and an original instruction sheet titled Instructions for Operating Lionel No. 50 Section Gang Car. The units are primarily constructed with plastic bodies on metal frames or chassis.
