Description
This lot features two Lionel O-gauge diesel switcher locomotives from the postwar era Space and Military series. Both units are constructed with molded plastic shells mounted on die-cast metal frames with metal wheels. The first locomotive is a Lionel No. 57 Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) Vulcan switcher. with a broken window strut. It features a cream-colored body with a red cab and black plastic handrails. The name LIONEL is embossed on the front left side of the hood. The cab sides are decorated with a white AEC atomic orbit logo and the number 57. This model includes a top-mounted bell. The second locomotive is a Lionel No. 59 Minuteman U.S. Air Force switcher finished in white with two broken window struts. The name LIONEL is embossed on the front nose, and U.S. AIR FORCE is printed on the hood sides. The cab features the text MINUTEMAN, a U.S. Air Force star roundel, and the number 59. This unit is equipped with side rods connecting the drive wheels and a top-mounted horn. Both units are electric-powered and designed for use on O-gauge track.
