Description
This lot consists of three vintage porcelain enamel advertising signs for REA Express, an American package delivery company that operated under this name between 1960 and 1975. The signs are constructed from long, rectangular porcelain panels with a forest green finish and bold, white, italicized sans-serif lettering. One panel features the word EXPRESS. A second panel features the initials R E A followed by a period and a small registered trademark symbol. The third panel displays the full branding R E A . EXPRESS with a registered trademark symbol following the A. The signs were designed for industrial or vehicular mounting and include several pre-drilled holes along the top and bottom margins. These signs represent the final branding era of the Railway Express Agency before the company ceased operations in 1975.
