Description
This lot features a pair of Marklin H0 scale model railway freight cars, identified as model number 331 open gondola wagons. Each wagon is constructed with a molded plastic body finished in matte brown with light bluish-grey painted interiors. The sides of the wagons are detailed with white lettering, displaying the model number 331 and a stylized railway emblem consisting of characters within a rectangular box. The cars are equipped with metal wheelsets and standard Marklin couplers. Both wagons are accompanied by their original red and white brick pattern cardboard boxes. The end flaps of the boxes are printed with the Marklin name, the model number 331, and the phrase Made in Germany. The box sides feature the Marklin logo and the GTC emblem of the General Trade Corporation, a prominent US importer of Marklin toys during the mid-20th century.
