Description
This lot consists of two vintage softcover trade catalogs from the Italian model train manufacturer Rivarossi. Both catalogs are presented in a landscape format with stapled wrappers. The first catalog is dated 1950 and features a white front cover with a thick red border. It displays the Rivarossi name in red script above a monochrome illustration of five distinct locomotives, including steam and electric models. The second catalog, dating from the early 1950s, features a red cover with a repeating white diagonal grid pattern, where each cell contains the word RIVAROSSI in block lettering. The central graphic on this cover depicts a black steam locomotive with red driving wheels emerging from a stylized tear in a paper background. The reverse covers of both catalogs feature a repeating red and white logo grid pattern. These catalogs served as primary marketing and reference materials for the manufacturer’s HO scale model railway line during the post-war period.
