Description
A Lionel No. 57 AEC Diesel Switcher, also known as the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) Switcher, dating from approximately 1959-1960. The engine is crafted from cream/off-white plastic with distinctive red cab accents and a black plastic undercarriage. It features a small metal bell and a red circular “AEC” logo above the number “57” on the cab. Presented with its original orange cardboard box, which displays “LIONEL ELECTRIC TRAINS, ” “No. 57 AEC SWITCHER, ” “A LIFETIME INVESTMENT IN HAPPINESS, ” and an instruction to “TO DISPLAY CONTENTS REMOVE THIS PANEL.” A folded instruction sheet, titled “Instructions for Operating LIONEL No. 57 A.E.C. DIESEL SWITCHER, ” is also included. One strut is cracked but intact. Original box and inserts C8-9
