Description
A vintage Lionel Postwar O gauge U.S. Marine Land & Sea Limited freight set, no. 1591. It includes a blue diesel-style locomotive marked “UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS”, numbered “212”. Accompanying the locomotive is a matching blue caboose, also marked “UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS”, and numbered “601750”. The set further comprises a group of red flatcars, each marked “LIONEL” and numbered “6807 , 6809 , 6803”. These flatcars carry various gray military-themed cargo, including a radar truck, an anti-aircraft gun truck, a box truck, an amphibious vehicle, and a tank. Many of the original Pyro trucks feature “U.S.M.C.” (United States Marine Corps) markings and the Marine Corps emblem. C7-8.
