Republic Tool and Manufacturing Corp. produced this Dan Gurney Cougar Road Rally battery-powered slot car set as a promotional tie-in for the 1968 Mercury Cougar. The set includes two plastic 1/43 scale models in red and yellow, two interlocking track sections with applied scenery decals, and original paper ephemera including an instruction sheet and a Lincoln-Mercury dealer promotional flyer. The mechanical system utilizes a battery-powered motor designed for two C-cell batteries and features integrated track switching. Complete unused.
